Top 5 Drugstore Concealers

Best drugstore concealers

One of my favorite makeup products is concealer. It’s also one of the hardest products to perfect because there are so many different elements people want from it: is it creaseless? Lightweight? Full coverage? Non-drying/cakey? Waterproof? Long-lasting? The right shade!? My makeup standards may be high, but below you’ll find 5 concealers I believe are the MVPs of the drugstore beauty aisle!

Best drugstore concealers

  1. Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer ($6.99)
    My Rating: 7/10
    Coverage: light-medium
    Finish: soft matte
    My shade: 20 Sand
Best for: mild under eye circles & discoloration
Comments: though I heard this concealer creases on some people, I haven’t experienced this (I don’t normally experience creasing). If you are more prone to creasing under your eye, you may want to pass on this one!
  2. Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer ($8.99)
    My Rating: 8/10
    Coverage: medium
    Finish: matte
    My shade: 20 Light
Best for: mild-moderate under eye circles & discoloration
Comments: this is a 2-in-1 concealer and corrector, so it’s perfect for covering the under eye area. It also claims to have skincare benefits, which is always a plus in my book. The first few times I tried this, I hated it because I used too much so it made my under eye area look very dry and cakey. Avoid this by using only a few swipes and blending with a damp Beauty Blender!
  3. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser ($8.99)
    My Rating: 8/10
    Coverage: light-medium
    Finish: soft matte
    My shade: Light
Best for: mild-moderate under eye circles
Comments: I’m sure you’ve heard of the Instant Age Rewinder by now – it’s a favorite among YouTube makeup artists! This is another great under eye concealer by Maybelline that claims to have skincare benefits. I love trying different concealers and have found amazing ones over the past few years, but I find myself always going back to this tried and true product.
  4. NYX Gotcha Covered Concealer ($5.99)
    My Rating: 7/10
    Coverage: full
    Finish: dewy
    My shade: 05 Medium Olive
Best for: moderate-severe under eye circles
Comments: you’ll definitely want to blend this one out with a damp Beauty Blender and set with powder! Also, because the formula is so thick and emollient, it comes out of the tube at a snail’s pace- but this thickness is what you need to get the ultra-full coverage Gotcha Covered promises. (Is this a dupe for my beloved Tarte Maracuja Creaseless concealer?! Find out here!)
  5. Revlon Photoready Stick Concealer ($10.99)
    My Rating: 7/10
    Coverage: medium
    Finish: soft matte
    My shade: 003 Light Medium
Best for: moderate imperfections & discoloration
Comments: I don’t apply this stick directly to my face; instead, I find it’s more hygienic and effective to use a concealer brush to pick up product and then spot conceal problem areas. It’s a little dry, so it works well with my oily-combo skin but those with drier skin may want to pass on this one!
