Summer is now in full swing and is my favorite season! It means beach days, rooftop happy hours, pool parties, and unfortunately my least favorite thing – Sweating. Living in NYC and having the privilege of having a nice 15 min walk to work has been great, but in 90-degree weather what seems like a blessing is a curse. Iv tried multiple products on the market that have claimed to be “sweat-proof” or “water-proof” but not everything holds up to their claim. Below is my list of tested products that I have come to love that will help your face stay flawless even during the summer heat!
High Endurance Cosmetics Sweat Pretty Spray ($16.00) – This is a must have! It keeps my make up in place! Sweat and pool water are no threat when it comes to this spray.
Sweat Cosmetics Twist-Brush + Translucent Mineral Powder ($42.00) – Typically when I sweat and have regular powder on it becomes patchy. This powder withstands sweat and heat! However, my only issue with this is the packaging. I am not a fan of the twist brush. The product itself works great!
Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer ($25.00) – Our holy grail for under eye circles. This concealer truly withstands the test of water and sweat. It is the only concealer I will ever need. Ready my post on how I use it here!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ($21.00) – Another one of our holy grail products. My brows stay in place at the gym and through hot days! One thing to note is that this is product is not 100% waterproof and will wash off in the pool.
Urban Decay Cannonball Ultra Waterproof Mascara ($20.00) – Another one of our holy grail products. This mascara will not leave you with runny black tears!
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20.00) – Favorite liquid lipstick ever! Stays on through sweat, oily foods, and kisses 😉

I like the Ultra HD Lip Colors, but they fall short on the “matte” claims. I prefer my Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks if I need bulletproof lip color! View Post
I’m tired of all the primers, foundations, and powders promising to keep my skin looking shine-free but never following through with their claims. Once, I got so fed up that I applied a mattifying primer under a mattifying foundation, and all topped off with a mattifying powder. Big mistake: in just under 3 hours, my oils broke through and created a horrific cakey disaster to what I thought was the perfect cocktail for shine-free makeup. Over the years, I have been experimenting with makeup techniques to try and control my seemingly unstoppable oil production without looking overly matte. The following is the best routine for shine-free, fresh-looking makeup that I have found…so far!
Tarte has been dominating the beauty scene this year; the mega brand garnered a huge cult following for their Shape Tape concealer. And there’s no way you haven’t heard of this concealer if you love makeup – it has infiltrated every corner of the beauty community because of its amazing qualities. I shouldn’t have been so skeptical because I know from experience that Tarte makes incredible concealers (I’m talking about you, Maracuja Creaseless concealer!). However, I came across so many rave reviews and not one mentioned a negative attribute about the Shape Tape. Real suspicious, I thought. But of course, being the concealer hoarder that I am, I picked up the Shape Tape to try for myself.

Best used for: under-eye circles, hyper pigmentation
My Shade: light-medium
– Long-lasting wear
– A little goes a long way!
– Super blendable & easy to work with
– Gives an ultra smooth, demi-matte finish
– Can accentuate texture if too much is used
– Not the best for people with dry skin under their eyes
My Rating: 10/10
Apply a very small amount to get the best finish and wear time! I use one or two dots under each eye.
Blend with a sponge – the formula is creamy, but it dries down very quickly. After applying one or two dots under my eyes, I use my finger to spread the product before it dries down. Then, I blend using a BeautyBlender to get the most natural and smooth finish.
Since the formula for the Shape Tape is heavy, I highly recommend that you moisturize well before using. This will ensure the concealer blends seamlessly into your skin and doesn’t cake up on dry patches.
